The NFL and Ticketmaster announce a multi-year extension

The National Football League and Ticketmaster's partnership will last for the seeable future. On Tuesday (October 17th), they announced a multi-year extension focused on Ticketmaster providing the NFL with the first open architecture, fully digital ticketing system in sports. 

Ticketmaster will utilize Presence, its next generation data-tracking venue software to enable the digital ticketing system for the NFL.  The digital ticketing system will allow stadiums and teams to better serve their customers by tapping into the software's real-time insights that can provide data on ticket holders, transfer and resale transactions, and ingress patterns.

Presence will also give Ticketmaster the ability to validate tickets listed on other NFL licensed  marketplaces. As a result, fans will have greater access to authentic NFL tickets and have a safer ticket-buying experience due to reduction in fraud. 

The new agreement goes live for the 2018-2019 season. 

In other NFL partnership news, over the summer they signed a three year partnership with Tencent, making the media giant the exclusive live digital streaming partner of the NFL in China.
